Relighting or relamping?

Sometimes it is enough to just replace the lamps and keep the luminaires. This is then called relamping. This is usually the simplest solution.

Relighting involves replacing the entire lighting system with a better and more economical alternative. The new lighting then becomes an all-in-one luminaire where the housing is matched to the built-in light source.
