Upgrade of existing emergency power to UPS without interruption at Mithra
What was our approach?
In early 2022, Luminus Solutions addressed the challenge of keeping the production lines of Mithra, a Belgian pharmaceutical company, operational during power outages. By installing a 1000 kVA ride-through flywheel system from IEM Power Systems, we reinforced the existing emergency power supply.
This approach ensured continuity in production, keeping in mind Mithra’s future plans for expansion. The collaboration with Newelec, a subsidiary of Luminus, underlined the synergy within the group to provide a cost-efficient and reliable solution. This project demonstrated our ability to optimise existing systems and prepare them for future growth, without interrupting operations.
What was the result?
Production without interruption: All production processes continue to run, even during power outages.
No loss of production time: Power outages have no impact on production batches.
Ready for the future: A possibility of expanding the system in the future has been provided.
Noise reduction: The noise level is limited to 72 dB(A) at one metre distance.
