At the end of 2024, Luminus Solutions signed a new energy performance contract with the city of Sambreville for the renovation of the town hall. The project aligns with the city’s climate ambitions and was developed as part of the RenoWatt program by Wallonie Entreprendre. The objective is to significantly improve the building’s energy efficiency, reduce its ecological footprint, and enhance user comfort.
The city of Sambreville has long maintained a visionary and determined approach to combating global warming. Through a structured renovation plan, investments in energy projects have been ongoing for over 15 years, making the renovation of the town hall a perfect fit for this vision.
A drastic energy transformation for the Sambreville town hall
In the coming years, the town hall of Sambreville will undergo a major energy transformation. With a total investment of €5 million, the project guarantees measurable and verifiable long-term energy savings, namely a 70% reduction in energy consumption and a 52% decrease in CO₂ emissions.
Coordinated works for optimal energy efficiency
The works are planned for 2026 and will include:
- Insulating more than 1,000 m² of facades and roofs
- Replacing nearly 500 m² of windows and doors with double-glazed models
- Installing 88 kWp of photovoltaic panels
- Relamping
- Optimizing ventilation
The current electric heating system will be replaced by a heating system connected to the boiler room of the neighboring swimming pool, which will eventually be powered by a district heating network.
A centralized technical management system (GTB) will also be installed to monitor energy consumption in real time, adjust heating, lighting, and ventilation systems, and quickly detect malfunctions for maximum efficiency. To ensure the sustainability of the installed equipment, a preventive maintenance plan will be implemented.
<p”>In addition to energy optimizations, the interior of the town hall will also be redesigned. The reception area, currently a patio with a glass roof, will be extensively modernized to enhance comfort and provide citizens with a pleasant welcome.
Luminus Solutions committed to sustainable development
With this EPC, Luminus Solutions commits to maintaining the installations in good condition and ensuring measurable and verifiable long-term energy savings, while also encouraging building users to adopt environmentally responsible behavior. By reducing primary energy consumption by 70% and greenhouse gas emissions by 52%, the contract will significantly reduce the town hall’s ecological footprint.
With this new project, which is clearly part of its broader vision for sustainable development, the city reaffirms its ambition to become a leading example in energy efficiency and sustainability.
