What was our approach?
Ten years after the first installation, Luminus Solutions fully renewed the combined heat and power (CHP) system at University Hospital Antwerp. UZA again chose our expertise to boost energy efficiency and continue investing in sustainable on-site energy production.
The new unit, powered by a robust 1,200 kWe Jenbacher gas engine, was integrated into the existing infrastructure. Smart technical choices—such as eliminating the initially planned heat pump—resulted in significant savings with minimal efficiency loss. UZA reinforces its role as a pioneer in energy-efficient hospital infrastructure.
