Luminus Solutions launches the biggest mobile UPS available in Europe

Luminus Solutions is launching a new mobile UPS installation that can protect electrical loads of up to 3200 kVA. With this, the company is responding to the growing demand for temporary and scalable power security for data centres and other mission-critical environments. Data centres operate non-stop, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. When maintaining electrical systems, renewing infrastructure or dealing with grid problems, temporary additional power supply security is crucial. A continuous power supply is not a luxury here, but a strategic necessity. Hospitals, airports and high-tech industries face the same challenges. To meet this need, Luminus Solutions has built a new 1600 kVA mobile UPS (MUPS) based on a rotating HITEC PowerPro 1800 system. Energy performance contract between Luminus Solutions and Sint-Niklaas nominated for prestigious award!

Sint-Niklaas wants to be energy neutral by 2050. An ambitious goal. That is why the city concluded an innovative energy performance contract with Luminus Solutions in 2022. With this, the city will save 39% over 10 years on the energy consumption of its nine largest buildings, accounting for 2600 tonnes less CO2 emissions. Sint-Niklaas is taking the lead in Flanders in this respect.

Luminus Solutions’ 1600 kVA mobile UPS system recently gained some useful new features. This allows Luminus Solutions to offer even more flexibility and gives their customers a more detailed insight into their power supplies. The installation was also given a new look for the occasion. Don’t just say ’emergency power generator’ to a UPS or Uninterruptible Power Supply. Because for those who really need a UPS, there is a big difference. Safety has been the focus of Luminus Solutions for many years. As a company, we constantly strive for a safe working environment. For our employees, but also on our construction sites for our subcontractors and customers. In addition, we are working on the continuous improvement of our processes and services. That is why we decided to obtain the SCC** certificate in 2020. In the past year, our teams have already done what is necessary to succeed in the SCC audit. Today, we are proud to announce that we have successfully completed the process and received the SCC** certificate from BTV. SCC (Safety, Health and Environment Checklist for Contractors) is a certification process whereby service companies are structurally and objectively tested on their safety, health and environmental management systems on the basis of a complete audit. With the SCC** certificate, Luminus Solutions wants to demonstrate that we are able to carry out risky operational work in a safe and healthy manner and have a well-developed management system.

On the eve of World Environment Day, Luminus is publishing the most important achievements from its 2020 sustainability report.
